LGBT Catholics Push for Inclusion!

LGBT Catholics Hold Vigils and Demand Inclusion

This news story just caught my attentions.  Following the U.S. visit by Pope Francis, LGBT Catholics are gathering and getting organized and calling for LGBT inclusion within the Catholic faith, testing Pope Francis’ reformist attitudes and supportive leanings.  How the Vatican establishment responds will be interesting but more interesting is whether or not Pope Francis will set himself apart from the more conservative bloc within the Vatican and establish a more inclusive, open and affirming stance.

Catholicism is due for some re-evaluation of some of its core principles and many Catholics at least here in the United States feel the Vatican may be out of touch with 21st century sensibilities and society.  Pope Francis has been so far a breath of fresh air and a staunch reformer thus far, shaking the establishment and I am impressed by his model of getting more Christ into Christianity.  Christianity isn’t just a label.  It is a series of active verbs that include love, compassion, inclusion, charity, and forgiveness.
